  • Our website is slow to load.

If you can tell your website is slow to load, then your customers are going to notice that too, but does it really matter?

YES it does, it matters a lot. Google will downgrade a website that is slow to load, and this has been happening for some time now, so if you are experiencing the clock spinning on your website, you will find your business moving down on the Google ranking.

Our websites are optimised for speed before live launch with code, images, plugins and other factors looked at.

And if we didn’t build your website? Relax – we do exactly the same within the first few weeks when you move it under one of our Care Plans.

  • There are broken links on our website

A broken link on your website can mean a lost customer to your business, there are lots of reasons there might be a broken link on your website, and fixing it can require someone with technical expertise, but you have to know it is there first and lots of website owners may not realise there is an issue on their site.

Websites need to be checked regularly, our software is running continuously assessing your website and broken links is just one of the things we look for which is why we recommend to our customers to take one of our Care Plans.

  • Poor Navigation on our website

You need your customers to be able to find exactly what they are looking for as quickly and easily as possible, a poor navigation system on your website, may mean your customers and potential customers leave your site for a faster easier to access website.

Some businesses choose to build their own website. Many of the free website platforms position building your own website as simple and easy, we know that a fast loading, well designed website, with plenty of links throughout the site, making it easier for your customers to navigate their way around the site and faster for google to crawl your content is essential for a good website.

Search is also a powerful tool to help your customers find what they are looking for so we look at how this can help for larger sites.

  • Our website is not mobile friendly

This means that when you look at your mobile device, your website looks the same as it does on your PC or Laptop. Creating a responsive website means your content changes dynamically to fit any device.

In September 2020 Google announced it was switching to “mobile-first” and by March 2021 Google was using the mobile version of your landing page for ranking and indexing.

Creating a website that provides your customers with a positive experience is crucial in keeping up with your competitors and it shows your customers you want to make it easy for them to do business with you.

All our sites are obviously delivered fully responsive and guaranteed to work well on Desktop, Laptop, Tablet and Mobile.

  • Do I need my website to be accessible?

Public sector bodies had to make their websites accessible from September 2018. A well-designed website would aim to make the experience of using the website a positive one for all its customers.

Check the UK Government requirements on what is needed and who is required to make their site accessible.

  • How long will it take to build a website?

There are a range of factors that will determine how long it will take to build a website and some of that is determined by the content and who is providing it, and what type of functionality is included in the site.  An ecommerce site will take longer than a single page brochure website.

Our team will create a project plan with a clear timeline based on certain deadlines being met, and there will be communication throughout the process to highlight any potential issues.

Typically, we find a simple site can be built in a few weeks and a larger or more complicated site in a few months.

  • How much does it cost to build a website?

How much does a car cost?  A few hundred pounds to a few million.

There are so many elements to building a website and the level of complexities required. Creating a website for an international business will cost more than a small website for a local SME.

The good news is all our prices are transparent, you know exactly what you are getting for the price, and they are published on our here.

We also offer payment plans to spread the cost up to 12 months.

  • Why do I need an SSL on my website?

An SSL certificate is a security feature to encrypt traffic between your website visitor’s browser and the website and it’s easy to spot a secure site through the padlock in the address bar of your browser.

If your site is missing the padlock, your customers will see a browser warning when they try and view your site and potentially leave for a compitor’s as a matter of trust.

Google will also rank your website lower without SSL certificate is a requirement so if you don’t have one, get one, fast.

Our Care Plans include an SSL certificate and its one of the core things we monitor as part of your overall website health.

  • What does the term UX mean?

User Experience (UX) refers to the experience a user has on your website.  In short, your visitors will leave if your website is not a pleasant experience.

Google also makes a judgement on user experience now known as Google Page Experience, where it will look at a number of factors including:

    • How fast the website is loading?
    • Is it mobile friendly?
    • Is it easy to navigate?
    • Is it secure?
    • Are there intrusive ads or popups on the site?
